This program will encompass training\, planning considerations\, equipment selection\, evolving threats and risk reduction along with case studies.  Participants will have the opportunity to use cutting-edge equipment and/or their own issued equipment. \nParticipants will be provided with handouts\, operation guides and other checklists.  Suggested attendees include HazMat Technicians\, CBRN Responders as well as bomb technicians. \nRegistration Options\nRegistration is available for this event for: \n\nParticipants (Active Technicians)\nIndustry Partners\nObservers\n\n\n\n\nIMPORTANT:\n\n\nYou must be logged in to enable registration for the various types based on your membership profile. \nLOGIN\n\n\n\nEvent Location\n\nUnited States Bomb Technician Association\n4450 Indian Head Hwy\, Indian Head\, MD 20640 [Map]\n\nEvent Dates\n\nFTTE 1\n\nTuesday\, May 19 – Wednesday\, May 20\, 2026\n\n\nFTTE 2\n\nThursday\, May 21 – Friday\, May 22\, 2026\n\n\n\nAirport\n\nReagan National (DCA) – 28 miles\nDulles (IAD) – 56 miles\nBaltimore (BWI) – 62 miles\n\nHotels\nRoom blocks are available at the Hilton Garden Inn Waldorf\, MD.  This room block will expire on May 8 2026. SUMMARY:X-Ray Focused Technology Training Exercise (FTTE)
DESCRIPTION:The United States Bomb Technician Association (USBTA) will conduct a Focused Technology Training Exercise (FTTE) at the USBTA Indian Head\, Maryland facility. \nCourse Overview\nX-ray interpretation is a critical skill in identifying\, assessing\, and mitigating the threat posed by IEDs. One of the most effective methods for detecting these devices is through x-ray recognition technology. With advancements in technology\, specialized software tools such as XTK (X-ray Toolkit) have become essential in enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of IED x-ray analysis. \nIED x-ray interpretation is a complex\, high-stakes task that benefits significantly from advanced digital tools. XTK stands out as a critical resource for enhancing the capabilities of bomb technicians and EOD teams. \nPDF Flyer \nEvent Location\n\n\n\n\n\n\nUSBTA Indian Head Facility\, 4450 Indian Head Highway\, Indian Head\, MD 20640 | Map\n\n\n\nHotel Information\n\n\n\nHilton Garden Inn Waldorf\, 10385 O’Donnell Place\, Waldorf\, MD 20603 | MapREGISTRATION LINK\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Dates\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTuesday\, June 2 – Thursday\, June 4\, 2026\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Contacts\n\nShaj Jagtiani\nAmber Lowe\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIMPORTANT:\n\n\nYou must be logged in to enable registration for the various types based on your membership profile.
