The United States Bomb Technician Association (USBTA) will conduct a 3-day Capability Advancement Training Exercise (CAT-E) at the James T Vaughn Correctional center 1181 Paddock Rd Smyrna Delaware (19977) September 23-25, 2025.
The USBTA and The Delaware State Police Bomb Squad along with a variety of Industry will conduct a Capability Advancement Training Exercise involving multiple disciplines and equipment related to Military and Public Safety Bomb Technicians, missions at the James T Vaughn Correctional Center and the Delaware State Police (DSP) Training Center 391 Clark Farm Rd Smyrna DE 19977. This CAT-E meets formal training requirements for Bomb Technician proficiency, as outlined in the national guidelines for Bomb Squads.
Under the supervision of DSP and USBTA Observer Controllers (OCs), the Bomb Technicians will have classroom and hands on training with State-of-the-Art Equipment including X-Ray, Homemade Explosives, Robotics, Bomb Suits, Rigging, UAV’s, Disruptors, and receive information on Emerging Threats and Case Studies.
