The United States Bomb Technician Association (USBTA) and the United States CBRN & HAZMAT Technician Association (USCHTA), 501(c)(3) organizations, will conduct a three-day Technology Training Exercise (TTE) at the Phoenix Fire Special Operations Division, the Phoenix Police Department Bomb Squad Range, and the John R. Davis Elementary School in Phoenix, Arizona.
The USBTA, USCHTA, Phoenix Police Department Bomb Squad, Phoenix Fire Department Special Operations Team, and multiple industry partners will conduct a multi-discipline Technology Training Exercise utilizing a wide range of equipment relevant to Military and Public Safety Bomb, CBRN and HAZMAT Technicians. Training will take place in realistic environments and meet formal proficiency requirements for both Bomb, CBRN and HAZMAT Technicians, aligning with national guidelines for instruction.
Under the supervision of USBTA and USCHTA Observer Controllers (OCs), technicians will receive classroom and hands-on training with state-of-the-art equipment, including X-ray systems, homemade explosives (HME) instruction, chemical detection tools, robotics, Bomb and HAZMAT PPE, rigging equipment, UAVs, disruptors, shaped charges, and briefings on emerging threats and case studies.
