The United States Bomb Technician Association (USBTA) and the United States CBRN HAZMAT Technician Association (USCHTA) both 501(c)(3), will conduct a 3-day Technology Training Exercise (TTE) at the Tempe Department of Public Works (DPW), 55 South Priest Drive, Tempe AZ 85281.
The USBTA, USCHTA, The Phoenix and Tempe Police Department Bomb Squads, the Phoenix Fire Department Special Operations Team along with a variety of Industry Partners will conduct a Technology Training Exercise involving multiple disciplines and equipment related to Military and Public Safety Bomb and HAZMAT Technicians, and on missions in real world environments. This TTE meets formal training requirements for Bomb and HAZMAT Technician proficiency, in standard HAZMAT instruction and outlined in the national guidelines for Bomb Squads
Under the supervision of USBTA and USCHTA Observer Controllers (OCs), the participants will receive classroom and hands-on training with state-of-the-art equipment including x-ray, homemade explosives, chemical detection, robotics, bomb and HAZMAT suits, rigging, UAV’s, disruptors, shaped charges and receive information on emerging threats and case studies.
