The United States Bomb Technician Association (USBTA), headquartered at the Maryland Technology Center located within the Western Charles County Technology Corridor, has been selected by the Maryland Department of Commerce as the newest Maryland Global Gateway Soft Landing Partner.
This prestigious designation underscores USBTA’s pivotal role in fostering domestic and international collaboration in the areas of energetics, technology, safety and innovation and serves as a catalyst for technological innovation and global business
partnerships.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit membership association, USBTA boasts over 69 industry partners, developing life-saving technologies for first responders and 5,000 individual bomb tech members, providing unparalleled access to private and public entities through its networking programs, industry days, government and academic conferences, training exercises, technology showcases, and collaborative matchmaking opportunities.

The Maryland Global Gateway Soft Landing Program offers international companies a cost-effective opportunity to explore the U.S. market. Through this program, participating companies gain access to vital resources, expert guidance, and state-of-the-art facilities to establish their presence and navigate market entry.
Benefits of the Maryland Global Gateway Program
International companies can bring up to two staff members to Maryland for a six-month period to work in a supported environment. Eligible companies also receive funding for programmatic, physical, and other market-entry costs, enabling them to establish a foothold in the U.S.
Eligibility Highlights
Participating companies must meet the following criteria:
- Legally registered in their home country for at least one year.
- Employ at least five full-time equivalent staff.
- Achieve a minimum of $500,000 USD in annual revenue or investment.
- Must be able to land physically in MD within 6 months of the application round.
