To provide training opportunities with emerging technologies, and encourage the sharing of resources, ideas, and experiences between bomb disposal specialists, academics, innovators, and industry partners.
OUR HISTORY
FOUNDED IN 2016
Established on October 19, 2016, the United States Bomb Technician Association (USBTA) is the only nonprofit public charity, recognized under Internal Revenue Code 501(c)(3), that exclusively focuses on the needs of United States bomb disposal technicians. Headquartered in Denver, Colorado, with an office in Indian Head, Maryland, the USBTA was created by bomb disposal technicians to address gaps in training, education, and funding, within the bomb disposal community.
The USBTA created a unique combination of trade show/hands-on scenario-based training that introduces bomb disposal technicians to new and/or prototyped equipment which give bomb technicians the opportunity to explore the equipment’s merits and/or shortcomings. These events, coined Technology Training Events (TTEs), are held throughout the United States and their success relies heavily on the USBTA’s partnership with industry. USBTA personnel, along with industry professionals, develop realistic challenging applications for specific bomb disposal products then encourage active bomb disposal technicians to not only test the product under “real world” conditions, but offer an open and honest evaluation.
The USBTA has a strong commitment to its members and the community at large. Annually, USBTA assists members of the bomb disposal community by providing financial support, training scholarships, employment transition assistance, and memorial recognition for our fallen comrades.
The USBTA’s Bomb Disposal Financial Assistance Program provides bomb disposal professionals immediate monetary support in times of tragedy.

This USBTA Remote Training Program is our effort to provide live training, in a safe forum, while complying with CDC guidelines
pertaining to COVID-19, and considering current travel restrictions. Bimonthly Training deliveries are conducted using Microsoft Teams and subject matter experts respected by the active duty EOD and public safety Bomb technician community.

Being an Industry Partner with the USBTA means targeted partnering with United States Bomb Techs. This allows us to both
learn, and share our knowledge with the Bomb Techs with boots on the ground in the united states. We listen to their needs and
strive to provide resources for them to complete their difficult tasks
