Governor Larry Hogan of Maryland presents the USBTA a Governors Citation

Governor Larry Hogan of Maryland presents the USBTA a “GOVERNORS CITATION” for the outstanding work and dedication the organization is doing for the  Bomb Technician Community and State of Maryland

On October 12, 2022, Maryland Governor, Larry Hogan visited the United States Bomb Technician Association (USBTA) in Indian Head Maryland to present a Governors Citation to the USBTA and be given a tour of what the association is doing for the Bomb Technician Community as well as the state of Maryland.  President/CEO Sean Dennis met with the Governor to brief him on USBTA activities and gave him the opportunity to go hands on with some of the tools and equipment Bomb Squads use to render Safe Improvised Explosive Devices.  In support was the Maryland State Fire Marshal Bomb Squad who provided the equipment and met with the Governor to demonstrate some of these tools.

The USBTA is very thankful to the state of Maryland through the Rural Maryland Council and Department of Housing and Community Development who have provided grants to the USBTA in support of renovating the current building we as an organization are fortunate to reside in and give back to the community.

The Mayor of Indian Head, Brandon Paulin, Two members of the Charles County Board of County Commissioners (Thomasina Coates and Gilbert Bowling) along with State Senator Arthur Ellis who are strong supporters of the USBTA were present to be part of this great recognition.

In further attendance and partners of the USBTA were members of Applied Research and Associates (ARA) who will be working with the USBTA on future endeavors at the Bomb Disposal Technology and Training Center (BDTTC) and Captain Copeland from Naval Support Activity South Potomac (NSASP) in partnership with Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head.
