Albuquerque, NM - The United States Bomb Technician Association (USBTA), in partnership with both the New Mexico State Police and Albuquerque Police Department, successfully concluded its recent Technology Training Exercise (TTE), Operation High Desert, in Albuquerque, NM. The exercise, which was held from March 28-30, 2023, trained 55 public safety and military bomb technicians from 29 different agencies.

In addition to the 55 bomb technicians, 25 different industry partners supported the exercise. These partners contributed their expertise and resources to assist the technicians in exploring new technologies during the 3-day training exercise. As a result, our nation's Bomb Technicians are gaining enhanced capabilities to supplement the skills taught by HDS and DOD.

Operation High Desert covered a wide range of topics, including bomb disposal, x-ray, bomb tech down, robotics, and advanced electronics.

"We are proud to have provided top-notch training to our members and served so many agencies in the process."

With events like Operation High Desert, the association is helping to ensure that bomb technicians are always ready to respond to any emergency situation.
